Cordera’s Storybook Themed Parks
The storybook themed parks in Cordera are unique to Colorado Springs having won Best Design 2006 from the Partnership for Community Design in Colorado Springs, CO. At Cordera, magic and adventure blend in storybook-themed parks inspired by childhood favorites: Alice in Wonderland, Charlotte’s Web and Where the Wild Things Are.
Fe Fi Fo Fum Park
Fe Fi Fo Fum Park, the latest and final storybook-themed park within the Cordera community, is now open. It is themed after Jack and the Beanstalk. Residents and guests may rent equipment for the games at the community center or bring their own. Please note the soccer ball for Human Foosball must be provided by participants.

Wild Rumpus Park
Wild Rumpus Park is one of the many storybook-themed parks within the Cordera community. This 16-acre park offers a variety of nature-based park experiences, interactive discovery, play and traditional equipment, picnic areas and trails. The park aims to highlight the site’s incredible natural beauty and character with opportunities to explore and enjoy the mature vegetation and vast views of Pikes Peak.
The wonder of imagination and the classic children’s book, Where the Wild Things Are, were the inspiration for this outstanding amenity — Wild Rumpus Park.
Ye Olde Castlewood Park
Ye Olde Castlewood Park in Cordera is inspired by the big and small theme from Alice in Wonderland.
The park features:
- 3.2 acres of green, open space to play
- Oversized and undersized sculptures and play equipment, giving children and adults alike the illusion of being really big or really small—depending on where they are in the park
- A winding sidewalk themed after the Cheshire cat’s tail
The Happy Meadows Park
The Happy Meadows play park is designed to look like the farm from Charlotte’s Web.
The park features:
- 2.4 acres
- Barn-themed play equipment
- Large friendly spider sculpture
- Large pig sculpture
- Challenging climbing web
- Combination half-court basketball and inline skating rink
- Spring rider horse corral
- Mini-apple orchard
Cordera’s Tom Kelly Grand Lawn
The Grand Lawn is located next to the Community Center, across from Chinook Trail Elementary School and themed after the book, The Secret Garden.
This 5+ acre park features:
- Xeriscape principles and water conservation techniques throughout
- A Secret Garden – with old heirloom roses and fruit-bearing trees
- A Spring Garden – with plants including bulbs and crabapples that bloom in the springtime
- A Shade Garden – located on the backside of the heated outdoor pool with kids splash area. Contains plants that need 6 hours or less of sunshine
- Plus lots of open space to play Frisbee, catch a pass or have an afternoon picnic
